The other night I got bored with both coding and the default icons of Evidence, so I fired up the GIMP, and, o shudder!, created.
I may not be Dior, but I did come up with a new look. I had been hoping to use the "cezanne" icon-theme by CJTown (who says nothing good ever came from a .biz domain?), but had to find that most of them were unsuitable for my purposes. I ended up revamping just as many as I could use as-is. Then, I created about the same number of icons for some "missing, but important" MIME-types. Finally, I added a handful of icons from the "exquisite" theme for the devices.
The resulting theme was no longer just a cezanne+, or an exquisite+ (which would at least have been an "enlightened" name). So given that a majority of the icons (images, text, folders, home, ...) ended up in shades of blue, and in an homage to the music I was listening to (Moloko and the Indigo Girls), I'll call this set "Indigo." Rameses! Colossus!
But -- why stop there? While I was at it, I also created a theme for the "engage" dock, using icons from the "exquisite" icon-theme (which in turn was adapted by scourge from madbwana's XP theme).
And then, why stop there? Evidence now accepts "edje"-style backgrounds, where edje is the new enlightened theme format. This will allow for multi-element backgrounds that resize properly as well as for animated ones. Let the art crimes commence!
Well, there's no e17 yet, anyway. : )
As for evidence, we've got some stuff, we need some stuff, but if nothing else, I've been using it for about a year now (and I never was one for graphical file-managers), so there must be /something/ to it, at least when dealing with images (digital photography!) and other thumbnailable fu. Thanks for your interest! : )
